Rapidweaver 3.2.1 and our site
Well, I finally got the time I needed (after a
straight-A semester at school
) to download and play around
with the latest version of Rapidweaver. I
discovered at least one bug related to
podcasts, but other than that, this seems
like a fantastic upgrade. More and easier
user control over themes and how they
display is probably the most obvious change.
Better control over images (resizing and
renaming, ALT tags, etc), blog categories
and a whole lot more find their way into
this version. It also integrates well with a
.Mac account and has FTP capabilities built
in as well. Anyone looking for a website
authoring solution without a steep learning
curve and that won't take a giant bite out
of your wallet should take a close look at
Rapidweaver.
End of the road for Mac Internet Explorer
The following is from
Microsoft:
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR MICROSOFT INTERNET
EXPLORER FOR MAC USERS
In June 2003, the Microsoft Macintosh Business
Unit announced that Internet Explorer for Mac
would undergo no further development, and support
would cease in 2005. In accordance with published
support lifecycle policies, Microsoft will end
support for Internet Explorer for Mac on December
31st, 2005, and will provide no further security
or performance updates.
Additionally, as of January 31st, 2006, Internet
Explorer for the Mac will no longer be available
for download from Mactopia. It is recommended
that Macintosh users migrate to more recent web
browsing technologies such as Apple's Safari.
The folks at MacWorld have also
weighed in on this topic.
Thanks Curt and Bob!
I've been a little lax about posting here lately. With final exams only a week away, school has been keeping me extremely busy. It's also prevented me from downloading and working with Rapidweaver v. 3.2. I'm hoping to do that and use it to update this site before the holidays. A presentation on this easy to use site building program is also a possibility for January's meeting, but I need some time to work with it before doing so, as there are many updated features from v. 3.1.2.
