Thank you Joel! and Greetings All from your new Webmaster

Fellow IMUGers!!
I’m thrilled to be serving as your IMUG Webmaster. Over the past six years, Joel Craig has done a fantastic job. His contributions as Webmaster will make it challenging to “fill his shoes”. I know Joel will continue to be an active member in IMUG and we wish him the very best in all his future plans.
Now, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Kishore Rao and I have been a board member of IMUG since 2006. I have presented at IMUG meetings and attend the IMUG coffee meetings as often as possible.
A little bit about my background. For my entire professional career, I've worked in the Information Technology industry, as a software developer. Since 1982 I have been a huge fan of Apple Computers and products. Over the years, I've owned eight Macs and one iPhone.
As I transition to this new role, I want to emphasize that my job is to make the IMUG Website first and foremost YOUR website. This means we really need YOUR participation.
Soon, we will be adding some exciting new features on the IMUG Website including:
Wikis (with auto RSS news feeds)
Blogging
Podcasts, including video streaming.
But none of this really means much without your input. We welcome all suggestions for new content and ideas. Feel free to contact me at anytime at an IMUG meeting or email me at kcrao@hotmail.com.
Thank you for this opportunity and I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

A new Webmaster, and thanks from the former
January 23, 2010 20:52
Due to some exciting changes in my personal life,
I'm passing the responsibilities for the upkeep of
this site to Kishore Rao. When I took over the
Webmaster duties from Scott Olsen about 5 or 6
years ago (my gosh, has it been that long
already?), I had very little experience at this
sort of thing. It became educational as well as
fun. Learning about FTP and file management, and
working with software like the amazing Rapidweaver
with which I've created this site has been made
easier because of Mac OS X and Apple hardware: it
always just seems to work. Easily. Intuitively.
Our site was formerly hosted a server at JJC. After Scott's retirement and changes in his former department, this was no longer possible. I've been hosting the site on an eMac from my home connection for the past few years (unbeknownst to Comcast
) Since I will be moving, this
will no longer be possible. Kishore will be
handing future hosting for the site. We're
hopeful we can continue to do this at no
expense to IMUG (outside of our annual domain
registration fees).
I want to thank Kishore for relieving me of these duties. Frankly, he's much more capable than I. He actually does this sort of thing for a living, so I expect we'll see a bit more polish on this site in the future. As for me, I hope to remain involved in the future though because of circumstances it will probably be on a more scaled back role.
